Social responsibility

It is our mission to help companies do good by offering an environmentally-conscious surface material or large scale commercial projects.

Sustainability

We close the gap between plastic recycling and businesses looking to make conscious decisions for commercial building projects. That includes ethically sourcing our recycled raw material from established recycling centres that meet our strict guidelines and adhere to our internationally-recognised product certifications, from Cradle to Cradle® to our Environmental Product Declaration.

Team diversity and Equality

Our inclusive team spans multiple
nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds

We are committed to creating a level playing field for all. Our policies and practices ensure that everyone has the chance to fulfil their potential and contribute meaningfully to our mission regardless of gender, faith, or background.

Nearly 60% of our management
positions are held by women

From the factory floor to the boardroom, women play a crucial role driving our efforts inside every department, from manufacturing to leadership roles. We are committed to shattering glass ceilings and paving the way for future generations of female leaders.

Promoting environmental awareness

We complement our work in sustainable manufacturing by highlighting the urgency of environmental and social issues at events and creating thought-provoking art pieces from 100% recycled plastic.

Hello, Earth Speaking

Instalation invited visitors from around the world at Milan Design Week 2024 to ponder the future of conscious design by using materials made from recycled plastic. The nearly 6000 kg installation had Earth at its centre, made entirely of Polygood®, educating industry professionals at the event about plastic pollution and the design industry’s role in curbing emissions.

An Iceberg in the Desert

The sculpture made from ice blue Polygood® panels — composed entirely of recycled plastic. Part of an exhibition at Dubai Design Week 2023, bringing an iceberg to the heart of the parched desert, consisting of 500 kg of recycled plastic, made a powerful statement about global warming and our shrinking glaciers.

Climate Stripes

Is another sculpture, this time recreating Ed Hawkins’ infamous graph of global temperatures warming steadily from 1850 to 2020. Part of an exhibition at Dutch Design Week 2023, blue and red hued Polygood® panels represent the increase in global average temperature, to raise climate change awareness and encourage eco-friendly design practices.

Youth and community

Ukrainian playground

The Good Plastic Company donated colourful Polygood® panels for Klaptyk, a uniquely-designed playground. The rubber tiles are designed with a chequered embroidery pattern relating to the name of the park. Klaptyks are also small birds that sing in unison with children’s laughter.

Our white panels speckled with a rainbow of colours blended with the structure’s wood panels, the geometric spaces, and the tactile “busy boards” that keep curious hands occupied. One Polygood® panel is etched with a wheat motif, a symbol of Ukrainian heritage.
Designed by parents, the playground is the heart of an open ecological and interactive art space where families and children can spend a good time safely.

Ocean waves

Polygood® made waves with its recent collaboration with partners Danube Group and PEAHEAD.eco. Together, they created two installations along a boardwalk in Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Marina, featuring art made from waste and recycled materials. The beautiful “Ocean Wave” bench and the “Starry Moonlit Saltwater” light structure are part of a greater initiative that is commenting on urban waste and marine pollution. The two Polygood® patterns selected for the pieces, Sapphire Terrazzo and Aqua Drift, are made from 100% recycled plastic. Repurposing plastic waste into thought-provoking works of art creates both a visually stunning and environmentally-friendly statement.

Student’s workshop

We donated 50 Polygood® panels to the Delft University of Technology for the minor in Archineering, led by the inspiring Nadia Remmerswaal. We are proud to help educate young designers and architects in using recycled materials.

No waste Ukraine

We helped transform a shipping container into an innovative waste sorting capsule for the No Waste Ukraine project. Housed inside a cleverly repurposed shipping container, the capsule functions as a centralised recycling and sorting facility, a convenient and efficient way for people and businesses to dispose of their waste responsibly. Using upcycling principles, the capsule demonstrates the transformation of discarded materials into valuable resources.

The Good Plastic Company donated the capsule’s ceiling, made from Polygood® panels in a bespoke Translucent White (#P$1704) pattern. The pattern is also made by upcycling, in this case, old CD cases and spools.
The project demonstrates our shared commitment with the initiative to sustainability and the ‘5 Rs’ principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose, and Recover) to minimise waste generation and maximise resource efficiency.
